What do you give kids who already have too much stuff?
What do you tell family members when they ask the inevitable question, "What should I get your kids for Christmas?"

Don't panic! Be prepared for the question with some options that will not overwhelm your kids and your already overflowing house.
One idea could be to request season tickets to a local theme park or amusement park.
What about recreation center or sports complex passes?
How about bowling, skating, or ice rink passes?
Books are always great gifts.
Perhaps you could suggest that your relatives take your children to pick out a child's name from an angel tree and purchase gifts to give to that child.
In any case, don't just say that your children already have too much stuff and they don't want any gifts.
Your children will likely still receive gifts from your relatives whether you tell them what your kids want or not.
I have found that requesting gift cards is not the preferred gift for family members to give. They seem to want to give actual gifts. I think it is because it is more fun to see the excitement on kids' faces when receiving gifts rather than gift cards.
If you kids still receive more gifts than they could possibly use and play with, talk with your kids about donating some gifts to less fortunate families. It is usually easier to donate new items and this way the kids aren't attached to the toys yet because they have not played with them yet.
In any case, be prepared to give some gift suggestions if your kids already have too much stuff.
