Fed up and exhausted

Getting kids to clean up after a long day is frustrating and exhausting, am I right?

It's the last thing you want to do and your kids don't make it any easier.

They play all day long and then when it's time to clean up, all of a sudden THEY are tired.

As if you weren't tired too!

You see all these pretty posts of clean toy rooms and you wish you had a clean room too!

But how?

The key to making clean up time easier and faster is having less stuff to clean up at the end of the day.

It takes a little time, but it can be done.

Some ideas to consider:

  • Rotate toys

  • Donate toys no longer needed

  • Use a fun chore chart *

  • Clean up alongside your kids and make it a game who can clean up the fastest

  • Inspire your kids to clean up with fun stories to show them that their toys don't like to be uncared for (a win-win to fit in story time too!)

Check out The Underground Toy Society: You're the Illustrator *affiliate link to inspire kids to clean up!

With this book, you can encourage your kids to add their own toys into the story so they can realize that their toys want to be happy and cared for instead of all over the floor!

Then at bedtime, you can read the story together and talk about ways to donate toys to help other kids who may not have as many.

Kids will begin to realize that their toys deserve to be loved which will inspire them to either keep them cleaned up or to donate the ones they no longer play with.
